New BMI Calculator

The new BMI calculator allows you to calculate a more truthful BMI, which takes height into consideration better.

According to the traditional mathematical formula, your BMI would be:

Morbidly underweight 0 – 14.9
Significantly underweight 15 – 17.9
Slightly underweight 18 – 18.9
Normal weight 19 – 24.9
Slightly overweight 25.0 – 29.9
Significantly overweight 30.0 – 34.9
Severely obese 35.0 – 39.9
Morbidly obese 40.0 or more

Using the New BMI Calculator

The new, more truthful way to calculate BMI is based on a formula developed by a British mathematician, which makes shorter people appear heavier and taller people slimmer. The new method takes the distortion resulting from height into consideration better.

Enter your height and weight in the fields above. The calculator displays your Body Mass Index and a description of what the BMI indicates.

Please remember that BMI calculated in this way is also only an approximate indicator of weight. BMI is always affected by physique, muscularity and other possible factors.

Compare the result to the traditionally calculated BMI.
